Artist: Crystal Michielsen - An Artist From Auroville
Art: I use a technique called pyrography on wood, then I add details with ink, watercolor, pencils, and other materials. My colors range from bright to soft. Pyrography is like drawing with a heated pen—it helps me express what's inside me spiritually. Painting is like meditation for me. It helps me find balance and focus inside myself. From that peaceful place, both inspiration and the challenge of bringing it to life in my art come naturally.
Dimensions: 53 x 53 CM
Border: 8mm
Maintaining the Painting: Birchwood layers provide strength and durability to the wood. These layers are carefully glued together to ensure resilience. To preserve and nourish the wood, it is treated with organic linseed oil. This protective measure can be reapplied annually, if required. Applying a thin coat of oil with a soft brush and allowing it to dry is recommended. Since wood is a living organism, it requires regular care, particularly during the monsoon season. In environments lacking air conditioning or dehumidification, promptly remove any signs of fungus by gently cleaning the painting's surface with a soft cloth. Although the paint remains unaffected, timely removal of fungus is essential.
